First, I need to mention the cuckoo birds. We love hearing them while in Spain, as we don't have them in Colorado. We've heard them everyday on this trip, but may not for the next few days as we enter the mostly tree-less "mesata" (the Spanish high plains).
Secondly, I want to praise the albergue (refuge) in Puente Duero (last night). Arturo is the host, and it is a classical stopping place for pilgrims: kind, friendly, welcoming, generous. In most of the albergues on this route we are "on our own". It was really great to have a true 'hospitalero' to welcome us yesterday afternoon and wish us a Buen Camino as we left this morning.
Some really great pictures today.
Looks like great day. Sun, beautiful country after a very friendly Albergue, quite a change from rain, floods and lonely albergues. .
ReplyDeleteYes, it was nice, but we were surprised by so much mist on Sunday. The forecast is super for the next few days.
