Tres Cantos, "Three Songs" in Spanish. That's a good name for a little town north of Madrid. I wish every day on Camino was as beautiful as today. You can see from the photos that it was fabulous.
We watched the Sierra de Guadarrama mountain range all day, which we hope to hike through on Monday. I say "hope" because there might be too much snow. We just don't know yet.
Yesterday we walked from the Church of Santiago, in old town Madrid, to Plaza Castilla on the north side of the city. We had received a beautiful pilgrim blessing at the church. This morning we started from the Plaza de Castilla subway stop on the north side of Madrid, and it was surprising how quickly we were into farmland. We could still tell we were close to the big city, with traffic noise from the highways we were paralleling.
It's been two years since Ruth and walked a Camino day together. It felt very good.

Madrid has three very tall skyscrapers. I thought this was an interesting view.
